The Haleiwa Queen is captained by friends Kenny Cole and Leif Robinson. Watermen their entire lives, both have a deep respect and love for the ocean. The guys met back in 2013 at their local North Shore Crossfit gym and hit it off right away through their paralleled lifestyles. Hawaii Glass Bottom Boats was founded on the desire provide for their families through their passion for being in the ocean.
Kenny has been a boat captain for 9 years. As a child he spent a huge amount of time off shore in the Gulf on research vessels with his dad, who is an oceanographer. He logged thousands of hours working on a boat through high school, and in college drove wakeboard boats for competitions and camps across the country. He began to learn the Hawaiian coastline over the past two years, fishing and exploring the Pacific with his dad.
Since childhood, Leif began fishing off Oahu’s North shores where he grew up. Fresh out of high school, he got into commercial fishing and eventually purchased his first boat. He escorted canoe races through our Hawaiian island chain and enjoyed educating Hawaii’s youth on keeping our ocean and it’s inhabitants protected. Leif has been a captain since 1999.
It is their aim to share Hawaii’s beauty and educate all who come aboard the Haleiwa Queen, visitors and island residents alike, on how insanely unique our Pacific Ocean is.
